Problems with updating Insync to 1.5.5 using the terminal

Currently I’m running Insync version 1.4.9 on Xubuntu 18.04. As I haven’t received any automatic update on the newest Insync version 1.5.5 since a while, I followed the instructions on " (LINUX) Updating Insync using the terminal" by Mia Moran applying “sudo apt-get update” and “sudo apt-get install insync”. In the terminal I received the message “insync ist schon die neueste Version (” [translated: “insync already is the newest version (”]. Any idea how I should update successfully? Thx in advance!

Hi @Michael_Weber,

First of all I’m so sorry for taking so long to respond here! Can you please run the following and send the output here?

sudo apt-get update
apt-cache policy insync

Thank you!

Hi @miamoran,

thanks for your reply! I just ran the commands you’ve sent to me. Here is the output you requested:

bash: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/insync.list: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden [[translated: File or folder not found]]

Hope this will be useful to clarify the problem.

Kind regards,

Thank you for this!

I am tagging our engineer @Kurt_Ko so we can look into this further.

Another one with no follow up…
Anything further on this?

  • Hi @miamoran, anything new on my update problem? I’d be very much interested in a solution. Thx and best regards, Michael
