I’ve recently purchased InSync because of the symlink support. I’ve uploaded over 1 TB’s worth of media to Google Drive as a backup. Windows 10 has just been released so I figured I’d reinstall my client PC.
I’ve just reinstalled InSync only to discover that it’s not allowing me to SYNC (the term used to marry up both source / destination). Having scouted around the support forums it turns out I can’t sync my local data with what’s already in the cloud. I have to download everything first. There’s talk of support in version 1.3/1.4 being released within the next few months (this was posted back in April). I’m running version 1.2.17.
So InSync is awesome until you need to reinstall. I’ve pushed this product to several people in the company. Now I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that they’re going to run into problems if they reinstall. InSync for me keeps a copy of a shared folder in the company. 1800 people access this folder regularly. Even if InSync was to redownload everything, it’d take days and it’s likely to fail because files are in use by other staff.
Love the product, but now i’m gutted because I can’t continue using InSync until this problem is resolved.
Please please please make this a top priority.
