Reinstalling InSync

I have used InSync for a few years. Then things went out of sync and files were inadvertently deleted, so I stopped using it for some time. Now, I am back for another shot.

Having uninstalled InSync, I have since removed all of the Google Drive files from my computer. Now I want to reinstall the application and re-download the files. However, when I install the latest version of the app, it appears to remember about my account. This leads me to believe that if I turn syncing on, all of my files will not download but will instead be deleted. This would not be a good outcome.

Any advice about how to uninstall and reinstall completely, so that I can get a virgin download?

Thanks,
Tony

It’s been four days now without a response. I’ve used Insync for three years, but this is my first call for support. I think I must leave and take my company with me unless I can get this resolved. I cannot recommend that we stick with the product if it might endanger all of our Google Drive files.

Thanks in advance for your attention.

@Tony_Hale: Sorry for the delayed response. To start afresh, Kindly do the following:

  1. Delete the following folder: %appdata%\Insync\dbs i.e. C:\Users[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Insync\dbs

  2. Install the latest Insync version

  3. Add account and set up a new empty folder for this installation.

Let Insync download all the files to this location on its own and do not move the existing Google Drive files to this folder expecting it to skip downloading those files.

Thanks
