Remove Gdrive or Onedrive from Insync

I have a problem with deleting/removing cloud account from the software.

i connected gdrive onedrive and dropbox also same time.

but there is no option to disconnect or delete onedrive or gdrive from the insycnc software.

i am using windows 11.

Hi @ksay,

Please follow this guide: https://help.insynchq.com/en/articles/2967096-removing-your-account

Thank you!

Just some constructive feedback:

I needed to remove my dropbox account as well, and had no trouble finding this account removal option, but the interaction very much looked like i was removing my insync account from the app, given that it was couple with a config (that seemed global?) and a license section (that also seemed global?)

The message just said that i was removing the account (which is the same for all of my accounts.

Please add some text to the message that indicates that you are removing a specific cloud account (by name)

@Tendrid My apologies and thank you so much for this feedback! Let me forward this to our team for review so we can continue improving how Insync communicates its call-to-action prompts in-app.

For anyone who might stumble upon this guide, please refer to this updated link if you need to remove your account: Insync License tab | Insync Help Center

Note that removing an account will allow you to setup your account from scratch. It will not remove the license.

Hi Mia,

“That page doesn’t exist.”

I want to change the local directory (linux) and using the chane option on the drop-down doesn’t change anything. Consequently I want to delete the sync account to add it again with the correct local directory but I can’t find how to delete the account. I’m stuck all round

Hi @Derek_Harding! Apologies for the trouble.

Which link are you using, exactly? I double-checked the one from my latest reply and it seems fine. Here’s what it should look like:

It has been 3 years since the original post and 2 years since @Tendrid wrote “… but the interaction very much looked like i was removing my insync account from the app…” and the issue remains.

I use InSync with GDrive, Dropbox and OneDrive. But since today our university dropped OneDrive, I’m removing it from InSync and I agree with @Tendrid: the interface for this is terrible! It indeed give us the impression that we are somehow removing the full account, since it is placed on the “License” tab. It is terribly misplaced and and the text in the interface does not help at all.

Indeed, I’ve found this post here because I was quite worried about clicking on that “Remove account” button and messing up my entire account.

This should be a quick fix, since it requires only a better writing and does not require complex changes in the code or interface. Why would it take more than 2 years to improve this?
