Should be able to get a link to any file

Right now, if I click “Get link,” it opens up a link sharing dialog. There is no way to get a link to a file that is set to “only specific people can access,” as far as I can tell. I want to be able to send links to files to my collaborators who already have access. Right now I have to open up the document in the web view and copy the URL.

My suggested UX would be that, for documents set to “only specific people can access,” the URL gets automatically copied to the clipboard, at the same time as the dialog is opened. The workflow for someone wanting to make a shareable link would be exactly the same, and I would simply ignore the dialog box and click away from it.

Gotcha, thanks for confirming! Indeed, it’s easy to copy the link for the other settings (anyone on the internet/with the link/etc), but not for “only specific people can access”.
