Should Insync also be installed on Windows machines?

I am using Insync in Ubuntu. But all my other machines are Windows 10 or 11 and use standard OneDrive. Seems to work OK and no complaints.
But should Insync also be installed on all machines and Onedrive de-installed?
Is there a best practice?

Hello! We would recommend using Insync so your workflow is similar across machines. But it also boils down to your personal preference at the end of the day.

I’ve been using OneDrive but I prefer Insync. Insync uses less resources than OneDrive, not a big difference but any reduction helps. If you decide that’s what you want to do as well just uninstall OneDrive and set up Insync to handle both.

I have been using insync on Debian and windows 10/11 machines syncing the same directories in GoogleDrive. Since I have in some cases dual booting Windows/Debian I make sure that the local directories (mirrors) are synced only in one operating system in one machine. After some hicups in buster I upgraded Debians to bookworm (X11). I only use insync in windows and debian, not microsoft client. So far this mixed syncing works well. Have not synced OneDrive but that might be fully possible.

I dual boot between Win11 and Ubuntu and I’ve set up 2 way syncing on each OS. Haven’t had any issue so far. I also use LibreOffice in both OS’s so I set the option in InSync to convert Google Docs apps to the standard ODF when syncing. That works VERY well for me.
