Syncing and adding external folders clarification

Hi, all.

I just installed Insync and set the default Insync folder in my user folder on C:. I don’t want the files on Google Drive to be synced with my computer, so I unchecked those folders/files. I use AeroFS to sync files between two computers on different networks. I right clicked on the AeroFS folder on one computer and selected “Add to Insync”.

I want to confirm two things:

  1. The files in my AeroFS folder (which is on an external drive - J:) will be synced (uploaded) to my Google Drive?
  2. By adding my AeroFS folder to the default Insync folder, I’m not duplicating files on the computer?

Thanks.

Jason

Sorry for the long delay in responding.

  1. Yes, that is correct.
  2. Yes that is correct thought 2 syncing clients are now pointing to the same folder, which we haven’t tested so don’t recommend. It could cause duplicates, etc.

Have you tried this setup?
