Perhaps this is already a feature, but I’m unable to find it. I would like to be able to create a MS Word document, for example, locally on my first PC that has MS Office. Upon upload to my Google Drive (via Insync), I would like it to be converted to a Google Doc. That way when my second PC with LibreOffice syncs the file (via Insync), I can have it convert the file to an OpenOffice document, thus bridging the Office document gap. I am aware that LibreOffice opens MS Word docs, but I always have formatting issues. However, when I convert the document through Google Drive, it usually comes out better (formatwise).
Howdy @jaduenas,
Thanks for your prompt response
Just out of curiosity, can you notify me if the feature request gets accepted into a Sprint? This feature would be extremely helpful to me as I run Linux (LibreOffice) / Windows (MS Office) and I have hybrid setups I do for clients. I’m just thinking the request will just end up in Backlog limbo, which is fine, I’d just like to know rather than anticipating something that will never come to be.
Regards,
Aaron
Hi Aaron, will let you know but again, no development is being done yet for this. Thanks and have a good one!
Hello
Any update on this ?
Since we can can convert on download, we need to convert on upload as well.
