Dear Insyncers:
It makes sense to me to backup the Insync folder
~Library > Application Support > Insync
In the dbs folder there is are two big account files that seem to constantly change. One is about 623MB and the backup never completes, because it changes, and Insync starts over again. Is this normal behavior?
Thanks
Yes, the databases there change constantly. But it’s ok, you don’t have to back up that folder.
Thanks, Marte. On a recent migration to another machine, I was glad that I had a backup. Insync is very fastidious and will create a new Account.db files when it is not the very last one, which can take days to complete. With my bandwidth I can not backup these files as they change before the backup is completed. the .db is over 600MB.
Since Insync itself modifies the files in that folder while syncing files, it’s problematic to backup those files directly with Insync. So it needs a separate program or script that regularly copies that folder to another location where it can be synced by Insync.
I like SuperDuper to backup files on a schedule.
Thanks for explaining.
