What happens when I created a symlink (on Linux)?

As I understand it there’s no support for symlinks (on Linux) in InSync. So I was wondering what happens if I create a symlink to a file in another synced folder? Will the symlinks be uploaded as a new files in the new folder? This would be good to know since I may do a lot of it and do not want to waste drive space with duplicates if I can avoid it.

Uhm… I already made 2 symlinks to directories I need to synchronize and it works. Good, currently Insync has an issue about local-to-cloud syncing but the symlinks seems to work.

I guess I should rephrase my question. If I make symlinks from files already synced in another directory that is also synced, will InSync look at the links as files and sync them as such so I end up with two identical files in the cloud?

Hi @cdysthe, the symlink will be ignored and therefore will not be synced.
