Insync deletes files from Google Drive after saving them with native MacOS Apps

Hey there,

In the past few weeks I have been dealing with a peculiar situation on my Mac running MacOS High Sierra.

Opening files like .pdf or .txt in native apps like Preview or TextEdit, modifying them and subsequently saving them (using command + s or the drop-down menu) appear as deletions in the Insync feed.

The files remain locally, but are deleted from my Google Drive storage.

Note that I have encountered this bug only when using native Mac apps.
Using third-party apps correctly registers my saves as modifications in the Insync feed.

What shall I try? I currently deal with very important data and cannot risk loosing any of it.
