Insync-dolphin does not work with Plasma 6

Any news on a fix for plasma 6? It is a bit strange that their support person has announced several times that there is a fix/beta already… Has anyone managed to get it to work?

Hi! Apologies for the miscommunication. I meant in an earlier post is that this is still under investigation and a fix is not available yet for deployment.

I have just followed up on this issue so we can have a clearer idea where this is in our timeline. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi Mia, I suggest to ask help to KDE developers. The plugin is now open source, so they can help.

Best.

I’ll relay to our Linux Team. Many thanks for this suggestion, @Guido_Iodice. Always appreciate your help in our community.

And? Any news? We are already at plasma 6.2…

I will follow up with our Linux Team regarding this long-standing issue with Plasma 6.x.

And? Another month gone. This is getting ridiculous…

Hello,

there any news? When will the icons work in dolphin?

Thank you

Tis bug was reported on March 23. Still no answer from Insync developers, just some comments from Mia.

This is beyond absurd.

This is not absurd. This is lame. They should fire the Linux developer.

The .deb work? I dont view nothing in Dolphin.
The package is installed but i dond view nothing en dolphin
Thanks

@Marcelo_Giordano Can I confirm if you have checked the following:

  1. Base folder is syncing to the correct location: https://help.insynchq.com/en/articles/2987441-how-to-check-or-move-your-insync-base-folder
  2. Files are synced: https://help.insynchq.com/en/articles/3220036-selective-sync

Thank you!

Just reporting in: new KDE user. Insync works fine, and I can open google docs and such from Dolphin but I cannot use the context menu “e.g. right-click and share with insync” or similar. I cannot see if files are syncing or synced from Dolphin either.

I will follow up this issue with our Linux Team as this has been plaguing a lot of our Dolphin users. Apologies for the trouble, and thank you for your patience!

Hi Mia,

Are there any updates on that issue? Debian will be migrating to KDE6 on the next stable, and Testing is also using KDE6 for quite some time. This means almost all Linux distributions have or will migrate to KDE6 soon.

Are there any way we can help this? Maybe the developer can share the problems they’re facing so we can direct them to help quicker. IIRC, the extension is already open source and doesn’t contain any proprietary logic InSync relies on, so it’s not a problem for developing it in the open.

Cheers,

H.

@bayindirh Thank you always for how willing you are to help! There are no updates on this issue yet but I can see how urgent it is to be able to address this as soon as possible. I’ll escalate this to our team so we can take the necessary steps.

Almost a year since my original report. Will this ever be corrected?

The same in BigLinux (Arch based). As we can see, a long time has passed and there aren’t relevant responses for this issue. Should we hope for anything, or is the matter really going to be closed without any solution?
