Linux Insync deleted 400GB of data

I have Insync portable 1.2.13 running on Centos 7 and it has been working fine for a month or so, but yesterday it decided to delete around 400GB of files from Google Drive. I’ve recovered the files from Google Drive’s “bin” but Insync wants to resync the entire lot again.

So…

  1. Is there a way I can get syncing working again without having to re-upload >400GB.
  2. Is there any way of finding out why the removal occurred?

Some additional info:

  • The data deleted is from directories included by symlinks into the insync directory - not sure if that’s relevant.
  • I haven’t changed any Google account settings or made any changes on the Linux host to Insync or anything else.

Thanks.

@deedubyah I’m sorry that Insync accidentally deleted your files.

For 1, unfortunately you would have to re-upload your files. We’re still working on the feature to address this.
For 2, please send your logs to support@insynchq.com for investigation: How to find the log files. You can compress them before sending to save space. Thanks.
