I have updated from MacOS Sierra to Monterey and suddenly Insync need to be update. Problem: the latest version is not compatible with Monterey.
What is the latest version that is compatible with Monterey? And where could I download it?
I’ve tried.
Insync is taking 90-100% of the CPU, and its window remains entirely white.
I cannot even set it on pause.
Is it scanning my hard drive? I will leave it work overnight to see if it eventually does something.
I’m confused. The link you shared above is 3.8.2, not 3.8.7.
The version I downloaded from your link is 3.8.2, the version I installed is 3.8.2. The version currently installed (and fully working) is 3.8.2.50468.
With the change of version, Insync is duplicating everything from cloud to local. It created folder with “(2)”. I stopped it so I don’t have to delete all these duplicates. How can I prevent it from duplicating everything?
@MaxD I mentioned the latest version here (3.8.7) but wasn’t so clear on what link I was pertaining to exactly. Apologies for the confusion and please disregard.
Thank you as well for confirming that the 3.8.2 worked for you!
Regarding the duplicates - could you please walk me through how you setup Insync on your computer? Did you use an existing folder as your base folder (sync location), or did you use a new and empty folder?
If you reused an existing folder, I would recommend removing your account then adding it again. But this time, please use a new and empty folder where your files are downloaded to.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
I use Insynq to synchronize two computers (one at work, one at home) via Google Drive.
Insync on my computer at work works well.
Please clarify your suggestion:
So far, my base folder is /Users/my_username/Docs/. What you suggest is to discard this folder, and instead create a new folder, for instance /Users/maxdeforet/Docs2 where I would download my entire Google Drive (50Gb)?
It would be much easier for me to let Insync truly detect the differences between the local and cloud folders and stop duplicating folders locally.
Hi @MaxD, indeed it would be more convenient to use the existing folder and let Insync file-match. There seems to be an issue with that, though, which led me to the suggested workaround.
