Proton Drive support

Hello!

Just chiming in to plus-one the request, as a user of both Proton and Insync.

Particularly since Proton doesn’t have a Linux client nor a timeline for providing one, this would be a particularly compelling feature.

Any news on this feature request from Insync? Will this be considered and if so, when will this be done?

Proton Drive is very useful to my cybersecurity workflow. Please, we need this feature ASAP!

It appears that an official Linux client from Proton themselves is at least 2 years away. At the moment, it looks like rsync is the only Linux tool that has support for Proton Drive and it’s only a CLI. I use Insync for Google Drive and Dropbox, so it would be great to be able to add my Proton Drive account there as well to have the ability to sync on Linux.

i’d +1 that, im in need of switching off dropbox and gdrive…

I too would like to encourage Insync to add support for Proton Drive for Linux.

There is a tool called Celeste that a university student has created that allegedly works with Proton, but it’s a bit clunky and open source. Maybe Insync could contact this young man and offer him a job! His software is available at:

Thanks for your consideration.

I agree! I had just asked Insync the same question!

I am eager to get away from Google/Microsoft/Dropship and their willingness to share everything with ‘the man’. Proton is based in Switzerland and does not share your info.

I ditto the request for insync support for proton drive for linux. I am a proton unlimited user, and proton drive is still not supported for linux, except for manual copies via their web browser interface.

Proton support would be a great enhancement of InSync I fully support the idea of Proton being the next cloud drive supported by inSync !

The windows drive is GPL-3 that would definitely be useful for the integration of Proton into InSync … just saying

I also love insync, it’s just working perfect.

But I also love proton and encryption, so proton support would be really nice.

There is a terminal Clint working unter Linux, based on the official Mac client. And it’s open source.

Maybe that helps.
Cheers

Yes please, I noticed this was initially posted on September 2021. Could we get an official follow-up to this question outside of the obnoxiously obtuse “it’s been forwarded to the team”?

I am currently reconsidering my use of insync and this would greatly pivot myself back towards yourselves.

At the moment I have “rclone” configured with Proton Drive and 6 other services, it lacks a gui for configuration purposes (not that it really needs one for the more tech savvy).

Hi @Paddy_NI! Thank you for following up! We have not included support for Proton Drive in our pipeline yet. We are focused on fixing major sync bugs right now to ensure that Insync’s functionality is stable for when we start working on major releases like this.

Hi @Zaqen! My apologies, but Proton Drive has not been considered in our feature development just yet. Please see here for my response. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Thank you for your response, but what are you waiting for?

Hi @Zaqen! We have been prioritizing sync bugs and overall app performance  Feature development will come afterwards. Thank you!
