Renaming uploads the whole file

When I rename a file it uploads the whole thing again. This issue doesn’t happen all the time but frequently.

Using Linux Mint 17.3 w/cinnamon, insync 1.3.5.

No matter if manually rename in Nemo, programs like GPRename or from the command line.
Sometime is will do what it’s supposed to do and just rename the file; most other times it will actually upload the whole file again.

As I have a very slow upload speed, it kills my Internet and is very frustrating to perform this simple task with horrible results.

Anybody else having this issue?

Oh, to make matters worse, renaming a file on google drive via web browser, insync will RE-UPLOAD the file from my computer to google drive.

Where would that ever be a good/wanted feature ??

Today I attempted the following:

  1. Rename from my computer in Nemo
  2. Renamed from browser
  3. Used GPRename program

I’m happy to say it didn’t re-upload any files but did sync properly this time.

I only did 1 directory this time but there is obviously an issue of some sort going on.

Let me tag our engineer @lpugoy in this and he will get back to you.

@JeffM: Apologies for the trouble. Please send your logs to support@insynchq.com for investigation: How to find the log files. Additionally could you give examples of files that were re-uploaded when renamed?

@lpugoy Email sent with all the info requested.

Thanks.
